Software we use
We use the following software in their most recent versions:

Upgrading of files
Prepress fees are charged for work done with the following software (the files should be transferred to software compatible with our printing systems):

Electronic document transfer
With the assistance of the file transfer tool on our website at www.corlab.com, complete the form and attach your documents which will be compressed by Stuffit or Zip. Once the transfer is completed, the resource person you have chosen will receive a confirmation of the transfer, as well as your instructions and the name of your document. Following this, you will receive a final confirmation of reception by email.
For clients with private access to our website, your user name and password permit you to transfer documents directly into your file. You may also connect by the usual procedure using your FTP transfer software. For clients who do not have a secured account, the spaces for the user name and password must be left blank.
For further information, contact our prepress department or your account representative.
Document preparation for banners and streamers

Create your document in exact proportion to the final format desired, including the finishing. Your choice of type face and related images must accompany the documents.
Leave a bleed of 0.5’’ on each page that requires no hem.
Please keep in mind that stitching for hems will be placed around 3 inches from the edge of your document. Therefore, you should avoid placing important graphic elements, such as logos or the main design in the hem area. The same rule applies for the reinforcing bands and grommets. However, it is not important if you are planning on using the welding technique since the finish will be almost invisible.
HEMS PREPARATION
Recto print only
Add 4″ of white to top and bottom of the visual.
Identical recto/verso print
Add 4″ at the top of the visual where you will copy the upper part of the image at 180 degrees. Repeat the same procedure with the bottom of the visual using the bottom part of the image.
Different recto/verso print
Add 4’’ at the top and the bottom of the image using the same technique as with an identical recto/verso print, but use the verso image at the top and bottom of the recto image and recto image for the verso.
Preparation of cut out files
In Adobe Illustrator.
Create your outline using the Objects Menu (and not the Guide Menu) on a single layer in exactly the same format as the required cut out (or proportionally if required) and apply a colour spot that you have already conceived, which is called the «contour». This last point is imperative so our systems can correctly read the cut out parameters.
This colour has no other function but to be visible and work as a visual guide, and will be automatically deleted by our RIP before being printed. It is therefore not necessary to place this object in the printing suppression mode.
A bleed of a minimum of 0.25’’is required on all sides of the cut out.
If the document is entirely conceived in Illustrator, the process is complete.
If, on the other hand, the outline is used as an attachment in a document whose layout was produced in InDesign or Quark, an additional layer is required on which you would place a minimum of 4 black reference points at 0.25’’from the corners of the final format of the document to approximately 0.50’’ from the bleed. These points serve as reference for the detection system of the I-Cut register.
Preparation of documents for sectional murals
In Adobe Illustrator, In-Design, Photoshop, Quark.
Create your document in exact proportion to the final format desired. The size of the page must be the same as that of the document.
The type face, related images, and an exact colour proof should accompany the documents.
Leave an excess (0.25’’ of final format) bleed on all sides of the layout.
DO NOT PRECUT THE DOCUMENT IN SECTIONS. This will be done with much more precision by our printing software.
If you wish to do so, indicate your preferences for placement of the panels with the assistance of the «Guide Menu» right on the document or in writing. Please note that the sections cannot exceed 53’’.
Please keep in mind that these images are made to be seen from mid to long distance, therefore, it is unnecessary to insist for an excessively high resolution of your images. Ideally the resolution should be approximately 150 dpi for standard size prints measurintg about 48 x 96’’ and 75 dpi for prints larger than 48 x 96’’. Please take note that the resolution must be less than 75 dpi for murals of very large format.
